From our warehouse in Osaka to the collector's desk, we care for every authentic historical piece with respect — one piece, one encounter. What lives in Edo maki-e, wabi-sabi tea ceramics and antique metalwork is not only handcraft, but a sense of life refined over centuries.
The name DASING (大行) comes from an ancient maxim in the Book of Rites: "Great deeds earn a great name; small deeds, a small name." It means that a truly broad and profound undertaking needs a wide vision that embraces past and present, carried out through the smallest, most careful of actions.
Our warehouse began in the antique art community of Osaka, Japan. Our founder has long been active at antique dealers' exchange auctions (bijutsu kurabu) in Kyoto, Osaka and elsewhere. We focus on antique ceramics, maki-e lacquerware, Nanbu and Kyoto iron kettles, and tea ceremony utensils in the tradition of Sen no Rikyū, from the late Edo period and the Meiji Restoration through the Taishō and early Shōwa periods.
Every piece that passes through DASING has known two to four hundred years of daily handling and ceremonial use. The tiny body marks, wood-fired flashing, crackled lacquer and patina on each object are breathing traces left by history. We are not only a channel through which antiques pass, but faithful guardians and aesthetic guides for these silent objects.
DASING Japan Art Warehouse follows the strict code of Japan's art dealers' associations, combining scientific examination with traditional expertise to build a firm foundation of trust with collectors.
We continually gather antiques and vintage pieces from across Japan, without limiting ourselves to any one period or category. Ceramics, tea ceremony utensils, vases, wood carvings, furniture, Shōwa-era household goods — if it has character and is worth appreciating, we hope to bring it back to DASING.
Antiques are captivating because time has truly left its mark on them. We respect each object's original feel of use, wear, color and changes with age. We do not try to make vintage pieces look new, so that each keeps its own historical character.
Vintage pieces often show signs of use, kiln flaws, wear, repairs or small losses. We show their actual condition as fully as we can through real photos and item descriptions, so that antique lovers can understand each piece before deciding whether to buy.
Collecting doesn't have to mean putting antiques in a display case. Tea wares can return to the table, a vase can hold a single stem, and old furniture can find a place in modern spaces. We hope these Japanese pieces that have come to us across time will be appreciated anew and become part of life once more.
DASING collects more than antiques from one period or of one kind. Ceramics, tea ceremony utensils, vases, wood carvings, lacquerware and furniture, along with Shōwa-era household goods and all sorts of vintage folk crafts, have come one by one from Japan to Kaohsiung, gradually building the antiques warehouse full of surprises you see today.
This isn't a traditional antique shop where every item waits neatly behind glass. We prefer to keep a little of the feel of a Japanese kodōgu shop and a warehouse treasure hunt. On the shelves, in cabinets, beside wooden crates, even in unassuming corners, there may be an old piece that suddenly makes you stop.
Step into DASING and you won't find formal displays or glass cases that keep you at a distance. Instead, you'll see old pieces gathered from all over Japan — ceramics, tea ceremony utensils, wood carvings, furniture, vases, folk crafts, Shōwa-era goods, and many curious finds that even we find hard to categorize.
Some pieces sit quietly on the shelves, some are tucked in corners, and some have just arrived from Japan and are not yet shelved. Take your time to browse — you don't need to come with a goal. The most enjoyable moment in collecting is often not finding what you meant to buy, but suddenly meeting an old piece and knowing "this is the one."

We keep searching all over Japan for antiques and vintage pieces of every kind — ceramics, tea ceremony utensils, vases, wood carvings, furniture, Shōwa-era goods and folk crafts. Shipment after shipment crosses the sea to Kaohsiung, so there is always something new to discover at DASING.
DASING doesn't collect just one kind of object. Fine tea wares, vintage ceramics, large wood carvings, Buddhist objects, furniture, household goods, and even curious old things we can't name may turn up in some corner of the warehouse.
Seeing photos online is one thing; walking into the warehouse is another. On shelves, on tables, even in unassuming corners, unexpected old pieces may be waiting. There's no set way to visit — take your time to browse and search.
What we love is not flawlessness, but the texture that time leaves on old things. Wear marks, kiln marks, changes in color and signs of use are proof that a piece was once used and cherished, and they give every old piece its own character.
