A handmade iron-glazed chawan in the 'Ko-Kutani' (Old Kutani) style, with the form and motifs characteristic of early Kutani ware; its firing retains a traditional texture and a sense of history. The double-door body is finely engraved with flowers and foliage, and the doors, hinges and clasps show layers of classical metalwork.
