Handmade Shigaraki Ware Ceramic Incense Burner, Japan
This is a ceramic incense burner in the style of Shigaraki ware, one of Japan's traditional Six Ancient Kilns. Hand-formed and fired, it expresses a strong Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetic. The incense burner has a distinctive form: it stands on three feet, and above is a domed, perforated lid through whose many round holes the smoke drifts out naturally, creating a soft and graceful flow.
