This is a European vintage industrial-style bar stool with considerable presence. The overall design carries no ornate carving; it begins from practicality: a thick round wooden seat provides the sitting surface, a wide wooden backrest is set above, a slender dark structure supports it below, and a full metal ring serves as a footrest. What makes furniture like this truly appealing is that it does not hide its years. The surface of the round wooden seat clearly shows abundant rub marks, scratches and color variations of differing depths; the backrest likewise retains natural wear. The dark wood paired with the oxidized metal footrest ring gives the whole piece a very natural old industrial character. For this reason it feels completely different from the many "distressed" industrial-style pieces on the market today—it is not furniture made to look old, but furniture on which time has genuinely left its traces.
