Maruni Classical Armchair with Woven Floral Upholstery, Japan
This armchair was made by the long-established Japanese furniture maker Maruni (マルニ木工) and retains its original “maruni HIROSHIMA, JAPAN” maker's plate; it is a vintage piece combining Japanese woodworking quality with the aesthetics of classical European furniture. Founded in Hiroshima, Maruni is one of the most representative furniture brands in the development of modern Japanese furniture. Its work has long excelled in wood processing, curved forms and European furniture styles, so many early Maruni pieces, even after many years, remain popular with lovers of old Japanese furniture and retro interiors. This armchair has a warm dark brown wooden frame, with the back and seat upholstered in a classical woven floral fabric of golden-brown tones on a deep blue ground.
