Resin Frog Figure, Japan

A Japanese-made resin frog figure in a naturalistic style: the granular, warty skin is richly layered, the musculature of the limbs and the webbing are clearly defined, and the eyes are highlighted to look moist and lifelike. The base is textured as rock and dry twigs, so the whole looks like a moment captured beside a stream, with an endearing yet calm Japanese feel; a single piece is enough to create a small natural scene in a corner.

Shōwa-period Gold Ceramic Maneki-neko, Japan

A gold ceramic maneki-neko (まねきねこ) from Japan's Shōwa period. Formed in high-fired ceramic, it is coated all over in gold and decorated with red, green and silver dots; a collar is tied at its chest, and it holds a round coin bearing the image of “fuku” (good fortune). The raised right paw symbolizes beckoning connections / customers and good luck. Plump and rounded in form, with an endearing face, it is a typical Shōwa shop charm for drawing in business. Handmade Japanese-Style Shifuku Pouch

A handmade Japanese-style shifuku pouch (しふく / cover pouch), made of a brown-and-beige woven fabric with a geometric family-crest pattern and closed with a fresh-green (wakakusa) cord. It is a small tea-ceremony size, able to protect a small tea caddy (natsume / small chaire) or serve as a pouch for jewelry and small personal items. The pouch is rounded with good volume, and when drawn closed it forms natural pleats, looking handsome both on display and in use.

A carved wooden rooster handmade in a Japanese workshop. Carved from a single block of solid wood, it has a rounded body, a thrust-out chest and a high-raised tail, in the head-up posture of a rooster heralding the dawn. The feathers are incised layer by layer with a line knife, building up clear light and shadow; it has a free, expressive movement while retaining the wood's own natural grain, knots and color variations — a union of craftsmanship and natural texture. Set of Five Kutani Ware Lidded Cups, Japan

A set of five lidded cups from the renowned Japanese Kutani ware tradition; the bases are clearly marked “九谷 華” (Kutani Hana). The glaze colors are distinctly layered and the patterns delicate and elegant. The set is painted in Kutani's characteristic overglaze enamel technique on a white porcelain body: white flowers on an emerald-green ground, dotted with yellow centers, bright yet with an antique charm — a typical example of the domestic craft aesthetic of the Shōwa to early Heisei period. Kutani ware has developed from the Edo period to the present day and is known for rich colors, bold lines and hand-painted designs. These cups have a green-glaze ground painted with five-petaled white flowers, their centers dotted with golden-yellow glaze, the overall palette clearly layered. Hagi Ware Chawan with Children at Play, Japan

A Japanese Hagi ware chawan with a warm clay body and a natural, soft glaze; fine iron specks and glaze runs are visible on the surface, showing the rustic character particular to Hagi ware. The outer wall is hand-painted with two children flying a kite, the lines light and quick and the colors pale and elegant, vivid and expressive — the kind of everyday subject and playful style often seen in the Shōwa period. Antique French Automaton Singing Bird Cage with Nightingale

This singing bird cage comes from the golden age of European automata, made in France around the 19th to early 20th century, very likely within the Paris workshop tradition (in the style of Bontems / Japy / Roullet & Decamps). It consists of an octagonal gilded wooden base with a domed brass cage. When wound, the red-feathered nightingale in the cage turns its head, opens its beak, gently moves its tail and whistles birdsong, with natural gradations of pitch and a delicate rhythm. A switch on the base selects three modes: stop / continuous song / intermittent song. The piece is complete and well preserved, and comes with its original French instruction card (Remonter avec la clé…), printed with winding and operating instructions and bearing the handwritten bird names “Rossignol (nightingale)” and “Tangara écarlate (scarlet tanager)” — suggesting it served as a reference label issued by a boutique or workshop, and making it of very high value for research and collecting.

Taishō-period Kutani Ware Large Plate, Japan

A large piece measuring 40 cm across, a typical Taishō-period kinrande overglaze work of the Kutani kiln line. The center features a genre scene of warrior figures, the faces finely drawn and the robes outlined in gold paint, rich in layers. Around the inner rim, kinrande brocade grounds alternate with karakusa scrolls and flowering sprays to form a ring; at the top is an emblem of an auspicious bird (phoenix-like), flanked by flowers and geometric roundel patterns, together forming the classic Kutani visual vocabulary of a realistic main scene framed by a brocade border. The reverse is painted with scattered auspicious objects and bears the “Kutani zō” (made in Kutani) mark, giving a clear indication of origin that aids collecting and scholarly reference.
